Begbroke Science Park expansion

Begbroke Science Park is growing with two new lab-enabled buildings that bring researchers, innovators and emerging companies together.

Doubling the size of the existing science park ecosystem, the new buildings bring university researchers, industry partners and science‑based companies into closer collaboration, offering around 135,000 sq ft of flexible lab, research and academic space. Together they create an environment that supports discovery, innovation and the practical application of research.
Building One, the 81,000 sq ft commercial building, provides adaptable space for R&D organisations to grow within a thriving innovation community. The 54,000 sq ft academic building expands Oxford University’s research and teaching capacity with modern laboratories, workspaces and areas designed to strengthen collaboration between university departments and industry.

reduction in embodied carbon

Low‑carbon systems power the buildings day to day, with air‑source heat pumps reducing energy use and on‑site PVs generating zero‑carbon electricity, all managed through a smart Building Environmental Management System that keeps performance on track.
Solar‑shading fins help maintain comfortable temperatures, while the overall design supports a calm, healthy workplace.
The buildings also make sustainable travel easy, with generous bike parking, showers, changing facilities and EV charging to support low‑emission journeys.
