Our impact

Creating the conditions for research, talent and communities to thrive.

Building inclusive growth

Our developments play a long-term role in Oxfordshire’s future – supporting economic growth and creating opportunity for everyone.

As members of the Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership, we build social value into how we plan and deliver. From creating skills and employment opportunities to working with local businesses and suppliers to building partnerships that strengthen the communities around our projects.

Every scheme also contributes to the Equitable Innovation Oxford (Equinox) mission – helping connect Oxford’s global research excellence with practical opportunites for local people and businesses.

Enabling world-leading research

From specialist laboratories to flexible innovation space, our developments support Oxford University’s ability to push boundaries, attract global partners and translate research into real-world impact.

Projects like the Life and Mind Building show how carefully planned, future-ready environments can bring researchers together to accelerate discovery.

Our projects are designed for collaboration, translation and ambition, helping Oxford remain one of the world’s most influential centres of research.

Bringing science to the community

Through events like the Science Wonder Garden Party, we connect local families, schools and community groups with the research happening on their doorstep.

In 2025, 2,371 people took part in Science Wonder activities, including 2,300 visitors on the day of the Garden Party alone.

Hands‑on experiments, lab tours and conversations with researchers make science real, welcoming and exciting, while deepening our partnerships with local organisations, SMEs and civic groups. These events aren’t just outreach; they help build a community that feels part of Oxford’s research story.

Embedding arts and culture

Arts and culture play a powerful role in shaping places people care about.

At Begbroke, we’ve worked with artists and cultural practitioners from the outset – using creative approaches to explore science, sustainability and identity, and to make the campus more open, expressive and human.

This integration helps create places that stimulate curiosity, encourage connection and feel distinctive, not generic.

Attracting and supporting talent

Great places draw great people.

By creating vibrant, connected environments with high‑quality workspaces, amenities and green spaces, we help bring leading academics, early‑career researchers, skilled professionals and innovative companies to Oxford.

Our developments give talented people what they need to stay, grow and thrive – strengthening the University’s global competitiveness and energising the wider innovation ecosystem.

Providing quality homes

Access to affordable, high-quality housing plays a vital role in attracting the brightest minds.

By delivering well-designed homes across a range of tenures and price points, we help Oxford compete globally for talent while easing pressure on the city's housing market.

Our postgraduate accommodation is designed around wellbeing, affordability and environmental performance, offering residents a secure, comfortable base from which to pursue their work and research.

At Court Place Gardens, this approach has already taken shape – with 71 new affordable graduate homes delivered alongside sensitively restored heritage buildings. It shows how carefully planned development can support academic life while respecting a historic riverside setting.
